Care & Use
Introduction
A Mrs Case is designed to beautifully display and protect your wedding gown while allowing you to keep your dress visible and accessible for years to come.
Mrs Case is not a traditional wedding gown preservation product. Traditional gown preservation typically involves professional cleaning followed by specialized archival packaging and storage, often in an archival box. Mrs Case takes a different approach: your gown is displayed in a protective environment designed to help reduce exposure to dust, humidity, and ultraviolet light while allowing you to enjoy your gown as part of your home.
Because your gown is a cherished textile, proper care before and after placing it in your Mrs Case is important.
Professional Cleaning
We strongly recommend having your wedding gown professionally cleaned by a qualified wedding gown or textile preservation specialist before displaying it in your Mrs Case.
Mrs Case does not provide gown cleaning or preservation services, and customers are responsible for arranging professional cleaning independently.
Any stains, oils, perspiration, food, makeup, or other residues should be addressed by a qualified specialist before your gown is placed in the case. Over time, untreated residues can contribute to discoloration or fabric deterioration.
Designed for Protection
Mrs Case incorporates features designed to create a more protective display environment for your gown, including:
- UV-reducing acrylic to significantly reduce exposure to ultraviolet light
- A dust-resistant sealed enclosure
- Humidity-control features
- Finishes and materials selected with archival and textile-display considerations in mind
These features are intended to help reduce environmental exposure, but no display case can completely prevent the natural aging or deterioration of a textile.
The condition of your gown will depend on many factors, including its age, fabric, dyes, embellishments, previous wear, previous cleaning, environmental conditions, and storage or display conditions.
Light Exposure
The acrylic used in Mrs Case significantly reduces ultraviolet exposure; however, it does not eliminate all light exposure.
For the best long-term care of your gown, we recommend placing your Mrs Case away from direct sunlight and not positioning it directly in front of a window.
Avoid prolonged exposure to strong natural or artificial light whenever possible.
Humidity Control
Your Mrs Case includes a humidity-control system designed to help manage the environment inside the case.
Customers are responsible for charging and maintaining the dehumidifier according to the manufacturer’s instructions included with the product.
The dehumidifier should be recharged as directed and replaced as needed. The included dehumidifier is covered by its manufacturer’s five-year warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions.
The humidity-control system is an important component of the protective environment and should be maintained according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Temperature & Environment
Mrs Case is intended for use in a temperature-controlled indoor environment.
We recommend removing your gown from the case if the case will be stored or displayed in an environment that is not temperature controlled, including garages, attics, unfinished spaces, outdoor structures, or other areas subject to significant temperature or humidity fluctuations.
Do not display or store your Mrs Case in an area that is prone to water intrusion, flooding, leaks, excessive moisture, or other conditions that could expose the case or gown to water damage.
Periodic Inspection
A Mrs Case is designed to help protect your gown, but it does not eliminate the need for periodic inspection.
We recommend that customers periodically inspect their gown for any signs of discoloration, staining, fabric deterioration, moisture, or other changes in condition.
If you observe any concerning changes, remove the gown from the case and consult a qualified wedding gown or textile preservation specialist.
The customer is responsible for monitoring the condition of their gown over time.
Wall Mounting & Installation
For Mrs Case models designed for wall display, the customer is responsible for properly securing the case to the wall.
Mrs Case does not provide wall-mounting hardware unless specifically stated with your product. Customers should select appropriate mounting hardware for their specific wall type and installation conditions and follow the hardware manufacturer’s instructions.
Because wall construction and installation conditions vary, Mrs Case is not responsible for improper installation, inadequate mounting hardware, failure to properly secure the case, or damage resulting from improper installation.
If you are unsure how to safely mount your case, we recommend consulting a qualified professional.
An Important Distinction
Mrs Case is designed to display and help protect your wedding gown—it is not a substitute for professional cleaning or traditional archival preservation.
For the best long-term care, we recommend professional cleaning before display, appropriate environmental conditions, proper maintenance of your Mrs Case, and periodic inspection of your gown.
Your gown is a unique textile and its condition may change naturally over time. Mrs Case is designed to help create a more protective display environment while allowing you to enjoy and revisit your gown rather than keeping it hidden away.
Customer Responsibility
By purchasing and using a Mrs Case, the customer is responsible for:
- Having their gown professionally cleaned before display
- Following the care and maintenance instructions provided with the case and its components
- Charging and maintaining the humidity-control device as directed
- Replacing the humidity-control device as needed
- Selecting an appropriate indoor, temperature-controlled display environment
- Avoiding direct sunlight and placement directly in front of windows
- Periodically inspecting the gown for changes in condition
- Properly securing the case to the wall when applicable

Mrs Case is designed to provide an elevated and protective way to display your gown, but environmental conditions, the original condition of the garment, and the natural aging of textiles remain outside of our control.
